For this assignment, the student will identify the characteristics that create a culture of safety in health care. The student will also identify common tools and methods used in the quality improvement process as well as the new nurse’s role in quality improvement. Finally, the student will reflect on lessons learned from the IHI Open School modules and provide an evaluation of the IHI Open School content and make suggestions for improvement. The paper must be written following current APA formatting guidelines and include a title page, appropriate use of headings, and a reference list. The reference list should contain at a minimum two articles related to a culture of safety and reference the IHI Open School. In addition to the paper, the student will upload all completion certificated from the IHI Open School modules. Please refer to the grading rubric for specifics on how the assignment will be evaluated. The student references components of a culture of safety as discussed in the IHI Open School modules and by reviewing and citing a minimum of two current articles on creating a culture of safety. The student is able to identify common tools utilized in quality improvement, as well apply the IHI Open School lessons in defining a new nurse’s role in quality improvement. The student will reflect on the lessons learned from the IHI Open School modules and provide an evaluation on the value of the IHI Open School modules, including suggestions for improvement. The student’s writing is clear and concise and free of grammatical errors. The paper is written using current APA formatting guidelines and includes a title page, appropriate use of headings, and a reference list containing a minimum of two journal articles AND references the IHI Open School modules.
