There are several different types of public private partnerships currently used by public and non-profit agencies and include: Operations and Maintenance Design-Build Turnkey Operation Wrap Around Addition Lease-Purchase Temporary Privatization Lease-Develop-Operate or Buy-Develop Operate Build-Transfer Operate Build-Own-Operate-Transfer Build-Own-Operate Shared Services. Please write an 8-10 page research paper analyzing an existing public/private partnership that is of interest to you. Alternatively, feel free to use the knowledge gained in this course to identify and establish a new public/private partnership that does not exist today. The paper should include the following: 1) Why did you choose these entities? 2) Background on each entity. What is their current mission and vision? 3) Analyze these entities. What role(s) do they play in government and in the private sector? 4) Why is this partnership necessary? 5) What problem is the public/private partnership attempting to solve? 6) What are the risks/success outcomes? Do the risks outweigh the possible outcomes? 7) How do you measure success? 8) Can the private sector do it better? I don’t have a preference on the topic, as long as the project is complete. This is an 8-page capstone assignment for my Privatization in the Public Sector class.
