What were the main points of the speech?

For this assignment, students will reflect on everything they’ve learned about good public speaking skills and analyze a speech of their choice. You will select a speech and then evaluate the speaker’s message/content, as well as the speaker’s delivery style.
PLEASE NOTE: In light of recent events, you do NOT have to see a live speaking event, although you certainly can. But you are also allowed to analyze a speech through a video or Ted talk. The speech can be on any topic or from any platform. The only requirement is that the speech is fairly recent, within the last year or so.
THINGS TO INCLUDE IN YOUR PAPER:
Speaker’s name, date, and place of event
What was the speaker’s primary message?
How did he/she relay that message?
How did the speaker prove his/her credibility?
What techniques did the speaker use?
Think about examples, statistics, quotes, humor, stories, emotional appeals
Was the information organized and easy to follow?
What were the main points of the speech?
Did the speaker have a good delivery style?
Verbal components: volume, rate, pitch, pauses
Nonverbal components: movement, gestures, eye contact, posture, appearance, facial expressions
How did the speaker relate the info to the audience?
What did the speaker do well?
How could the speaker have done better?
